Covington, Washington (September 19, 2016) – Renowned Kent DUI attorney Kim E. Hunter gives a presentation on “The Psychology of Juries” at the 23rd Annual Criminal Justice Institute (CJI). Attorney Kim Hunter has co-chaired this event for six consecutive years now, and she is proud to be a part of such a huge gathering of legal professionals. A partnership between the Washington State Bar Association and WSBA Criminal Law Section made it possible for prosecutors, defense counsel, judges and law enforcement professionals to come together, all in the name of discussing the most pressing issues in criminal law.
The 23rd Annual CJI is a 2-day seminar that will be held from Thursday, September 22, 2016 to Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission in Burien, Washington. Attendees will earn 14 CLE credits (13 Law and Legal Procedure, and 1 Ethics). This year’s topics for discussion include awareness for the Department of Fish and Wildlife and criminal law, how criminal law intersects with immigration, military, family and Indian law, updates on pending Washington legislation, crime reconstruction and more. There are also a limited number of scholarships available
Some of the few esteemed speakers who will give talks include Hugh Birgenheier, Judge Robert McBeth, Tom McBride, and of course, Kim E. Hunter. Ms. Hunter will be heading the discussion on The Psychology injuries on the first day at 9 A.M. Eye witness testimony, the effects of pretrial publicity, the dynamics of deliberation, how verdicts are made and fairness in the justice system are among the main points of her talk.
