Kim E. Hunter
Kim was born in Spokane, WA and moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where she was chosen to enter a pilot Bachelor’s program on Biomedical History and Ethics. After several years in Business Management, Kim went to Graduate School while working full time and received an MBA from City University in 1992. She enjoyed the challenge of school so much; she decided to pursue a long time goal of Law School and entered Gonzaga University School of Law in 1999.

At Gonzaga, Kim was involved in many volunteer programs including coordinating the Mentor program for 2 years, The Street Law Program, Moot Court and the Student Bar Association as an interim officer, a Quarter Finalist in the Linden Cup Appellate Competition, and was awarded Fourth place in the Negotiation Competition. Kim co-founded the Gonzaga Animal Legal Defense Fund an offshoot of the national organization. Kim was also a member and Secretary of Phi Delta Phi, a Scholastic Honorary Society.
Kim’s proudest achievement was being selected for the National Trial Team, where she competed with other Law Schools in a Trial Competition. Additionally, Kim joined the Center for Law and Justice in the summer of 2000 and worked as a Legal Intern, taking cases to court and representing clients. While working at the Center for Law and Justice as a Legal Intern for two years, she won her first case; a suit against a Property Management Company attempting to evict an elderly tenant. Kim was on the Dean's Council and the Dean's Honor Code Council. She also worked for the Spokane Prosecuting Attorney’s Office while attending Law School. Kim graduated in 2002 and passed the Washington State Bar in 2003. She serves on the Board of Governors for the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is on the board for the Criminal Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association. She is also a member of the National College for DUI Defense.
Upon passing the bar in 2002, Kim entered into practice with Tucker and Stein, P.S. as an Associate Attorney. There she handled private Criminal Defense cases as well as working for as the Public Defender for the City of Bellevue, and the City of Redmond. In May of 2004 Kim left Tucker & Stein, P.S. and worked on a special contract project that summer; establishing small business and negotiating contracts. (A favorite activity of hers)
Kim opened her private practice in July of 2005 emphasizing Criminal Defense work with a special interest in Domestic Violence and DUI cases.
